Draft plans for a proposed Punanganui Market Canopy :

Local artist Mike Tavioni, a master carver on Rarotonga who has
has been developing local Maori art & sculpture for decades now
proposes to build a canopy for the cultural market on Rarotonga.

Mike developed an idea for a roofed Polynesian performance stage
where cultural events can take place at the market. The writer thinks
it is a good idea because the National Auditorium is big and indoors.

The Canopy is based on solid foundations, provides a stage for all
types of cultural events plus some dressing rooms and toilets under
one roof. Shelter from sun and rain for the performers. - Well done.
